WHY MOST PEOPLE FAIL IN ECOMMERCE
Two years of being a full-time entrepreneur in e-commerce have taught me a few things.
Watching other budding entrepreneurs struggle – I can see where they are going wrong.
Firstly, my business Bella Luck Charms is probably my sixth website and 3rd eCommerce business. I have tried and failed a lot over the years.
Here we go…
Zero budget = Zero growth
I see this all the time. Everyone wants to have a six-figure business and think they can get there by spending no money.
eComm is pay-to-play.
You can’t sustain or grow a ‘real’ and consistent business purely by posting one reel a day or sending free gifts to influencers. You are basically depending on ‘fluking it’ or going viral.
Content Compliments and grows a business only marginally. Every social media platform wants you to advertise so the game is rigged against you.
The same goes for SEO. Free/Organic traffic will only get you so far.
Solution
I know you don’t want to spend any money but if you want a serious business and an income — paid advertising is a must.
You need retargeting ads to close the deal when someone has visited and not purchased anything and you need consistent ads bringing new business in the door.
With a paid advertising strategy you will get an overflow of people following you on your socials. Your ad pops up and they check out your profile and a percentage of people will follow you.
With this mix of traffic, you will start building your email list too.
Invest in Professional Photography
I see this mistake all the time.
Sell the fantasy.
Make your product look like a million dollars with professional pictures that show all the little details.
Mindless scrolling kills imagination. Never assume customers will just ‘imagine’ your product on them.
Do the work for them.
Show them the dream. Put together a look for them. Suggest, stack and place. Show them how it’s done.
If you do these two things you will be so far ahead of the competition and on your way to a full-time income. No one can stop you!
